Be it in Europe or South America the easiest and best way to learn a language is practicing it most of the time because there is a simple fact the more you practise the more you learn.

This said, there are a few more strategies you could try in order to improve not only your Spanish, but also any other language for example German or French these tips will work for any languages.

Speaking about the best way to learn Spanish you will need to be constantly exposed to the language, which means you need to be practicing, reading, speaking, listening, undestanding, writing and learning.

Having a teacher is important since you need someone to correct yourself because you possibly do not know if you are doing things correctly, if you made a mistake or simply are mispronouncing a word.

1. Practicing
it is common to stop practicing a language because you get tired, you have no time or simply you prefer to do another activity. However this is a mistake because you will forget words and will lose fluency. " Practice makes perfect"

2. Readings
When you read you increase your vocabulary and you see new words and verbs, you will be able to know whether or not a verb is used in one context or if it sounds crazy. Here you should try reading a Spanish topic you are familiar with.

3. Speaking
It is a fact that you need to speak and try out new words, vocabulary and sentences you learned from the previous steps, so you want to have an amount of theory and also time for practice. So learn grammar 50% of the time , but practice 50% of the time as well.

4. Listening
This is a very important step because you want to make sure you understand what is being said to you, thus you want to listen to easy, medium and complex difficulty level recordings, audios, news or movies. Be aware that news will use difficult grammar tenses and that probably movies will sound closer to the day to day way of speaking.

5. Understanding
If you tried already all of the previous steps to learn Spanish you need to think at what percentage you are getting the texts, videos, books or sentences that are said to you. Can you understand all, part of it or a few words?

6. Writing
Here we have another interesting step, writing in Spanish, usually people write words as they hear them not as they are supposed to be written and this is because we learn through our ears first and then we try to express what we listen, then you need to be careful with the spelling. Some languages have letters and vowels that are mute or that combined will produce a new sound, it is also possible to find sounds that you can pronounce but you cannot write or viceversa.

7. Learning
when students have questions or there is an "ahhh" moment it means that you are learning, if you are learning that means that there is progress and if there is progress you can utilize new verbs, vocabulary, sayings, complex sentences etc. It is important to have external feedback and test your Spanish abilities frequently.

Bonus:
Bear in mind that we learn by repetition, association, looking, hearing. This is why some teachers still use the repetition exercise or lines (planas) where you would write a word a hundred times to remember it. The point here is to see a word as many times as you can to finally get it into your brain. Like we said before compare your pronunciation and the accurate pronunciation this means the correct pronunciation of the word and not the one you think it is. Some languages are not similar at all, so be ready and open to new grammar rules. Last but not least pay attention to grammar and punctuation rules, again, puntuation is different for some languages as well as word order. Almost forgot you need a method !!!
